Kerbal Generations

Kerbal Generations is a lightweight population and dynasty mod for Kerbal Space Program. It allows your Kerbals to have children, grow up, and form complex family trees, making it the perfect companion for long-term colonization saves.

Features

• Natural Population Growth: If you have a Male and Female Kerbal on the same vessel with enough empty seats, nature will take its course.
• The Nursery System: Babies are born as Tourists. They can travel but cannot pilot or work.
• Dynamic Maturation: After a set childhood duration (Default: 1 Kerbin Year), babies mature into a random profession (Pilot, Engineer, or Scientist) and join your workforce.
• Family Tree Tracking: The mod logs the Father and Mother of every child born.
• Renaming Utility: A built-in renamer (press 'R' in the UI) allows you to rename Kerbals without breaking their family links.
• Safety First: Breeding automatically pauses if the ship is too full or lacks resources.

Installation

1. Download the .zip file.
2. Open the zip and find the GameData folder.
3. Drag the KerbalGenerations folder into your KSP installation's GameData folder.
4. Correct path: Kerbal Space Program/GameData/KerbalGenerations/Plugins/KerbalGenerations.dll

How to Use

1. The Interface
Once in flight (controlling a ship), press F7 to open the Kerbal Generations control window.
2. Breeding Mechanics

• Requirements: At least 1 Adult Male and 1 Adult Female on the active vessel, plus at least 2 Empty Seats.
• Pregnancy: Progress happens automatically. You can adjust the Breeding Speed slider to speed up gestation (useful for testing) or slow it down for realism.

3. Growing Up

• Babies spawn as Tourists.
• Use the Childhood Duration slider to decide how long they stay children (Default: \~426 Days).
• Once the time passes, you will receive a notification that they have grown up and been assigned a class.
